Karunya University Karunya University (formerly Karunya Institute of Science and Technology) is fully residential private Christian university located in Coimbatore. It was founded as a Christian minority institution late Dr. DGS Dhinakaran, his son Dr. Paul Dhinakaran, founders of Christian evangelists and Jesus Calls Ministries, India India.Government and subsequently renamed as Karunya University under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 See Notification No. 09/03 dated-2000-U3. 23/06/2004 Government of India.
