Janmashtami 2010 Astami
celebrated throughout India by Hindus as the birthday of Lord Sri Krishna. Gokulashtami also known as Janmashtami. Lord Sri Krishna was born 5,000 years ago in Mathura at midnight on tithi Astami Krishna Paksha in the month of Shravan according to the Hindu calendar, so the Astami is celebrated as Krishna Jayanti. This year Janmashtami is the September 2, 2010.
